As previously announced, Sony Online Entertainment decided to pull the plug on the game as EA and BioWare set to launch Star Wars: The Old Republic next week. The publisher claimed this was a "mutual business decision" between itself and LucasArts.
"On behalf of the Star Wars Galaxies team, thank you. We have truly enjoyed getting to know you - our dedicated players - over the years," the developer said in a statement published on its website. "From in-game events to Fan Faires, we appreciate your continued loyalty and support. It would not have been possible without you."
